Cobham Special Mission (Cobham) has signed an extension to its existing contract with Ascent Flight Training Limited for the delivery of rear crew training to the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as part of the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS).

Cobham has successfully delivered rear crew training support for Ascent, supporting four Beechcraft 350 Avenger Mk1 aircraft based at the Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, since 2009. This contract extension, which will commence in July 2016, is valued at £16 million and will run for a further four years until 2020 with Ascent having an option for a further one year extension.

Peter Nottage, Sector President, Cobham Aviation Services commented: "After modifying the aircraft and bringing them into service, Cobham has successfully supported rear crew training under the UKMFTS programme for the last seven years.

"I feel that this contract extension recognises the high quality and effectiveness of our services to Ascent and the Ministry of Defence (MoD). This demonstrates our continuing commitment to delivering value for money and first class aircrew training services to the UK Armed Forces, and we are honored to continue supporting both Ascent and the MOD in the coming years.
