Chris Matheson MP hosts APPG at Cranfield

This week, the Aerospace All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), chaired by Chris Matheson MP, were welcomed to the world renowned Cranfield University by Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor, Sir Peter Gregson.

The APPG wanted to understand more about the university and how it works with government and industry to support the Aerospace and Transport Industries.

Chris Matheson MP,  said: “As Chair of the Aerospace APPG I was delighted we could visit Cranfield University. I would like to thank them for their comprehensive and informative tour which outlined their capabilities and the on-going contribution that they provide to the Aerospace sector as a whole, such as their new Aerospace Integration Research Centre, that acts as a hub for academia and industry to work collaboratively. 

"It was an opportunity to discuss the aerospace sector and positive changes that can be made for government, industry and academia to work together to support the future vision of our country.”

Professor Sir Peter Gregson, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Cranfield University, said: “This an exciting time for aerospace at Cranfield and it was a pleasure to show the all-party group our latest world-leading research facilities and talk to them about our transformational aerospace research.
 
“The group play a vital role in championing the aerospace industry at Westminster and I hope that their visit to Cranfield gave them insight into how business, academia and government are working together to drive innovation in the sector.”
