CAA brings a further 5,224 Monarch customers back to UK
The Civil Aviation Authority's flying programme completed 30 flights during its 10th day of operation on Wednesday, returning a further 5,224 people to the UK as part of its flying programme started on Monday 2 October, to bring 110,000 people back to the UK in response to Monarch Airlines administration.
The flying programme experienced a day of normal service with limited delays, following a challenging day on Tuesday due to the French Air Traffic Control strike.
On Thursday 12 October, day 11 of the flying programme, the CAA plans to operate 33 flights, for over 4,600 people planning to return to the UK.
Richard Moriarty, CAA Group Director of Consumers and Markets, said: “The CAA continues to work around the clock, in conjunction with the Government and airline partners, to deliver our replacement flying programme.
“With just four days until the end of our programme, passengers are reminded to check the website 'monarch.caa.co.uk' to confirm the time of their flights at least 24 hours in advance as some people will need to arrive at the airport earlier than originally planned.
“We are sorry that some passengers experienced disruption during the last couple of days, this was caused by the French Air Traffic Control strike. We are pleased that our service has returned to normal and all those passengers are now back in the UK.”
