Bristol Airport finds strong support for its development

A survey conducted by YouGov on behalf of Bristol Airport has found strong support for the airportÂ’s development amongst residents of the South West.

The airport’s explanation of its plans to increase capacity to 12 million passengers a year was supported by 71%* of those surveyed, with 17% opposed.

Simon Earles, Planning and Sustainability Director at Bristol Airport, said: “We have always said that our plans respond to demand from the public for improved airport facilities and access to even more destinations from their regional airport. This survey highlights the support that exists for our development plans from people in the local area and across the wider South West.

“However, it also reinforces the need to make improvements to local roads, which is why any planning permission will be accompanied by significant investment in local junctions and public transport services.”
