Boeing hosts UK suppliers in Seattle
Boeing is today hosting more than 35 UK companies - including several small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) - to showcase their technology in Seattle for potential future sales opportunities. In partnership with the Department for International Trade, Ministry of Defence and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Boeing will set out its technology strategies to the visiting British suppliers.
The two-day event sees Boeing and the UK Government, including the Aerospace Technology Institute, hold networking meetings and ‘meet the engineer’ discussions to connect suppliers with Boeing so that they can explore potential future tie-ups across the company’s product lines.
The visit forms a further part of Boeing’s delivery on its commitment with the UK Government to grow prosperity in the UK, including opening up additional opportunities to the British supply chain on future platforms.

This is a unique opportunity for UK companies – both existing and prospective new suppliers – to showcase their technology for inclusion on future Boeing aircraft. Boeing has already more than doubled its spending with UK suppliers since 2011 and this growth trajectory continues. Boeing employs more than 2,000 people across the UK at numerous sites, from Glasgow to Gosport. Boeing’s expenditure with the UK aerospace industry in 2015 was £1.8 billion and the company supports 12,700 jobs in the UK supply chain, in the process enhancing skills, facilitating exports and generating intellectual property.
