David Bright, Sector Director for Defence at BMT Group comments: “BMT is already fully bought into employee development and recognises the importance of professional accreditation, with schemes set up to support various disciplines across the business. The IET is instrumental in helping us to achieve our professional aims and we look forward to working more closely with the organisation in the future.”

Working actively with the IET, 25 of BMT’s employees were recently accredited, achieving Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Fellowship (FIET) statuses.  Tranche two of its training scheme will start in the New Year and will be expanded to include more companies within BMT Group. BMT is also now engaging in future Partnership and Fellows networking events.

David said: “It’s great to see more employees securing formal recognition that they have met standards of knowledge, understanding and competence set by the Engineering Council.  We recognise that our success is centred upon the talent, skills and expertise of our people and it’s for this reason that we will continue to support employees with the opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge.”
