Barnbrook Systems hits pre-Covid productivity levels
Aerospace and defence firm Barnbrook Systems Ltd is back to pre-Covid productivity levels as it gains pace out of the lockdown.

The Fareham-based business kept a dedicated team in place to fulfil orders for vital contracts at the height of the pandemic.
Now all of the independent family firm’s 45-strong workforce are back in action at the company’s factory.
The company, founded in 1978, is a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of many types of electro-mechanical switching devices for sectors including aerospace, defence and security.
Managing director Tony Barnett said: “Whilst we recognise that this remains a concerning time, we are pleased to be back to full productivity.“Our contingency plans enabled us to continue operating at the level expected at the height of the lockdown, whilst safeguarding the interests of our employees, and customers.“We will continue to monitor and respond to government advice, while playing our part to support the local economy and help Great Britain plc back on to its feet."
During the lockdown Barnbrook Systems kept its people employed rather than place them on furlough leave through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
Its production line kept rolling for such essential components as actuators for the activation of fire suppression systems and extinguishers.
Office, sales and administrative employees worked remotely from home.
Barnbrook Systems supplies the aerospace, defence, maritime, railway and commercial industries globally with clients including global firms, the MOD and overseas companies.
Its products include its award-winning brake controller, refuelling switches for Leonardo helicopters and relays for submarines.
The firm was due to attend its 13th consecutive Farnborough International Air Show this July, but the event was cancelled due to Covid and will now take place 2022. It is a member of ADS and the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC).
