BAE Systems to present CV90MkIV and Beowolf at Eurosatory
BAE Systems is introducing its CV90MkIV variant with a new turret and showcasing its hyper-mobile all-terrain vehicle Beowulf, at Eurosatory next week (17th-21st June).

The CV90MkIV represents the most recent evolution of the CV90 family of vehicles. Building on a proud legacy of world class mobility and survivability, spanning more than two decades, the CV90MkIV brings unrivalled technological capabilities and flexibility to complex battlefields.
“The CV90s that we are working to deliver now, willprovideg crews and soldiers with increased mobility, protection, and lethality as well as improved combat awareness. It is a truly relevant system on today’s battlefield,” said Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, managing director of BAE Systems Hägglunds, which designs and produces the CV90. “We are committed to delivering defence capability and economic growth through industrial partnerships across Europe, and the CV90 is a prime example of how we are doing that.”
With proven combat capabilities in recent conflicts, the IFV variant is the foundation of the CV90 family. Agile and powerful, it protects soldiers and leads the way in the 23-38-tonne class. It integrates a wide range of weapon systems, providing all-target capability to land forces around the world.
BAE Systems Hägglunds has seen a strong demand for the CV90 with contracts for multiple upgrade programmes and the development and production of new vehicles. The company has invested extensively in its facilities in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, and has forged strong relationships with local industrial partners in the various markets it operates in, to increase the security of local supply.
Beowulf
Also on show at Eurosatory will be BAE Systems’ hyper-mobile all-terrain vehicle Beowulf, showcased in the configuration chosen for the US Army’s Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) programme.
Beowulf is a dual body amphibious vehicle, with proven technology, designed to provide total operational support where other vehicles cannot. It is based upon battle-proven driveline technologies that underpin the BvS10 family of vehicles currently in service worldwide. This offers reliability, durability and high system availability.
Suitable for a range of missions, including search and rescue and defence support to civilian authorities. “Beowulf is a highly capable vehicle with exceptional performance in extremely challenging terrains such as the Arctic, desert and jungle environments, from the sea level to extreme altitude. We are proud to be able to provide soldiers with this solution,” said Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, managing director of BAE Systems Hägglunds, which designs and produces the Beowulf.
The new platform combines the best of the heritage from Bv206, Bv206S and BvS10. Its highly configurable design provides built-in flexibility, that can support military operations, training missions, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, firefighting and rescue operations.
The vehicle leverages commercial automotive technologies and ergonomics, resulting in increased crew comfort and a decreased maintenance burden. Using commercially available design elements in a flexible cabin delivers a modern design and intuitive user interface that make it ideal for situations where the BvS10 survivability and weaponry is not required.
The US Army selected Beowulf in 2022 as its replacement solution for Arctic operations, providing a modernised ground platform solution for extended operations and force projection in the region.
