BAE Systems Australia doubles up
Eighty-three graduates started work this week at BAE Systems Australia double the number employed by the company in 2018.
Even more graduates will be sought in 2020, with around 120 positions now available as major projects such as the Hunter Class Frigate Program continue to ramp up.
In their two years with the company, this year’s graduates will have four placements that will see them working on critically important defence projects and within various support functions across Australia – Canberra (ACT), Sydney and Williamtown (NSW), Portsmith (Qld), Adelaide (SA), Melbourne (Vic)and Henderson WA).
They will specialise in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Commercial & Procurement, Human Resources and IM&T.
More than 2500 students applied for the 83 available roles. More than a third of graduates starting this week are women.
BAE Systems Australia Chief Executive Gabby Costigan said: “Our graduate programme is critical in developing potential future leaders within our business and elsewhere in the defence industry.
“We work with graduates to continuously tailor the programme so that it meets their career development and ensures that we have some of the brightest minds developing solutions for our defence force.”
BAE Systems Australia is recruiting graduates for 2020. The company is seeking applicants from across Australia.
