B-Cam Ltd, a leading innovator, producer and retailer of body-worn security cameras, has become the first such company to join Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative.

Based at the Reading Enterprise Centre, Berkshire, B-Cam’s cameras are used in both the public and private sectors including police forces, health services, shopping centres, football clubs and at security related events in the UK and worldwide.

The cameras capture high quality video and audio recordings and can be used to support evidence in criminal and anti-social behaviour cases in Court.

Designed by experts in security and policing, the cameras are robust, reliable and durable as well as being easy to use and cost effective. With infra-red capability, images can be recorded with exceptional clarity, even in low-light situations. Purchasers are supported by 24/7 customer support services.

SBD has approved their A7 and A9 camera products, the latter launched only this year as a smaller and lighter version with additional features.

Established in 2012, B-Cam Ltd displayed their products at the Home Office Security and Police Exhibition in Farnborough during 7-9 March where they received a great deal of interest including from security authorities in Europe and from representatives of the US.

They are due exhibit at the Football Safety Officers’ Association Conference and Exhibition in Stratford-Upon-Avon on Wednesday, 29 March.
Jerry Sheppard, Business Development Director, said. “Our body-worn cameras have proved to be an effective tool that can be used in training, enforcement and prosecutions. Their high quality ensures that vital communications are not missed or lost in background noise.”

Managing Director, Herman Vermaak, said: “It’s great to be part of Secured by Design and it is important for us to be so, especially at this time when security is high on the agenda for many organisations not only in the UK but also around the world.”

SBD Chief Executive Officer, Guy Ferguson, said: “We are delighted to have B-Cam on board. They are clearly at the forefront of body-worn cameras, which are ultimately designed to be an effective tool to support enforcement and keep people safe.”
