Avon & Somerset Police has opened applications for the latest round of police officer recruitment.

In order to apply to become a Police Constable (PC), all new officer candidates must first complete our online police officer eligibility check which is now open and will close at 23.59 on Monday 11th November.
There are currently spaces remaining for the next Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) course starting 2020. The PCDA is now the primary route for new officer candidates and provides an opportunity for talented individuals from all backgrounds to obtain a degree whilst working and earning a full salary.
The PCDA programme is delivered in partnership with the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and includes classroom delivery, practical application and tutorship. New joiners will be in uniform and getting experience on the beat after 13 weeks.
Avon & Somerset Police want to hear from people who want to make a difference and will provide an outstanding service to itscommunities. Candidates must be professional, friendly and able to build relationships with colleagues and communities, to be enthusiastic, reliable, self-disciplined, flexible and confident enough to take control of situations.
To be eligible to apply for a PC role, you must be at least 18 and be a British citizen, an EC/EEA national or a Commonwealth citizen or foreign national with no restrictions on your stay in the UK. Applicants will have a minimum of one Level 3 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
Candidates must first complete an online eligibility check which closes on 11th November. Those candidates who are eligible will be notified and invited to fill in an application form and answer three competency based questions. If successful you will then be required to attend an assessment centre where you will be assessed in across five elements: interactive role play; written test; verbal and logical reasoning test; numerical test; an interview.
Following this, successful applicants will then undergo pre-appointment checks and assuming checks are cleared, will be contacted with a final offer of employment.
