Arkwright Trust scholarships supported by timNexus
Military tech firm timNexus is marking nearly a decade of supporting Arkwright Trust scholarships to develop the skills and experience of young engineers, which is so vital to the future of the UKs economic prosperity.

Following a meeting back in 2010 between Tony Harris, co-founder of timNexus and Linda Scott OBE, the then Chief Executive of the Arkwright Engineering Scholarships, timNexus agreed to sponsor an individual student each year, contributing towards the cost of their education. This financial support enables a young person to follow their chosen career in engineering, often giving them greater confidence and opening up new employment opportunities.
Tony Harris, Commercial Director at timNexus said: “Being a Chartered Engineer I recognised that it was important that we did our bit to promote the profession, and to help those students that have a talent and a motivation to succeed in a career in engineering. Having sat on the interview panels I’ve been tremendously impressed with the passion and enthusiasm of the applicants and the quality of the projects. I’m delighted that we support the scheme not only financially but also by being able to offer work experience to the award recipients.”
On November 1st 2019 the Arkwright Trust’s annual awards ceremony took place in London at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in Savoy Place. This event is a celebration of the success and achievements of the young people supported through the scheme with a keynote speaker and each graduate of the Scholarship programme is presented with a certificate.
TimNexus will continue its financial sponsorship and looks forward to enabling more young people to enter the successful scheme managed by the Trust.
