The figures for February 2016 represented the largest ever jump in delivery levels from any January to February month and despite the February year-to-date deliveries decrease, deliveries in February were still worth up to £1.6 billion to the UK’s Aerospace industry. Also, the current backlog is 4% higher than levels in February 2015 and could be worth up to £190 billion to UK industry.

Paul Everitt, Chief Executive of ADS Group, commented: “We have seen a relatively slow start to aircraft deliveries in 2016 as manufacturers prepare for the introduction of new aircraft types. Air traffic is increasing in all major markets, order books remain at record levels and we expect delivery rates to increase through the year.”

“The UK’s aerospace industry continues to focus on productivity and capacity to support the global growth in demand for new, cleaner, greener aircraft.”
