Air Partner plc today announced the appointment of Richard Jackson as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

Richard left the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) earlier this year after 16 years as Group Director of Consumer Protection. During his time at the CAA Richard was instrumental in making significant improvements, including the introduction of new ATOL regulations and the replacement of bonding with the ATOL Protection Contribution (“APC”). He also successfully oversaw the restructuring of a number of major tour operators.

Richard began his career with the Ministry of Defence in 1974, before joining the financial services sector working for financial institutions including Hill Samuel & Co Ltd and Daiwa Europe Limited.

Since leaving the CAA, Richard has acted as a consultant to a number of aviation and travel related clients.

On his appointment to Air Partner’s Board, Richard will also join the Audit and Risk Committee.

There are no disclosures to be made under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.

Richard Everitt, Chairman of Air Partner, commented: "I am delighted that Richard has joined the Air Partner Board. Richard's deep understanding of the aviation industry and his regulatory and consulting expertise will be highly beneficial to the Air Partner group.

Over the last 12 months we have proactively strengthened our Board with three new non-executive directors, further aligning our industry and operational experience to the needs of the Group’s future direction and strategy.”

Richard Jackson is the third non-executive director to join the Air Partner Board this year. Amanda Wills CBE, a non-executive director of eDreams ODIGEO S.A. and former CEO of Virgin Holidays Travel Group was appointed to the Board in April. Shaun Smith, Group Finance Director of Norcros plc and former Group Finance Director of Aga Rangemaster Group plc joined the Board in May.
