The event is expected to be the sector’s most comprehensive presentation of defence, military aerospace and security capabilities, when it takes place at ExCeL London later this year. Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier will be speaking in the West Theatre, located on the exhibition floor.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier joins DSEI’s prestigious programme of VIP speakers, which includes: General Sir Nick Carter KCB CBE DSO ADC Gen, Chief of the General Staff; General Sir Chris Deverell KCB MBE ADC Gen, Commander, Joint Forces Command; and Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff.

DSEI’s offering to the military aerospace sector is further strengthened by the introduction of the Air Capability Conference which takes place on Monday 11 September as part of the Strategic Conference programme. Chaired by Air Marshall Philip Sturley CB MBE FRAeS and industry expert Howard Wheeldon, the Air Capability Conference will examine 'The Next Generation of Air Capability'.

The Future of Military Rotorcraft will also be addressed in DSEI’s Strategic Conference programme. Chaired by notable rotorcraft journalist, Andrew Drweiga, this conference will feature dedicated sessions from the most eminent rotary authorities. Delegates can expect to see speakers from Joint Helicopter Command and the Joint Multi-Role (JMR) programme office, US Army and many more.

Attendees will be encouraged to widen the debate during the open panel sessions throughout the day.

The emphasis on aerospace innovation will continue into the DSEI exhibition from Tuesday 12 September to Friday 15 September, following four central themes: Develop, Deliver, Support, and People & Skills. The Sessions will focus on government and industry collaboration, harnessing technology to increase operational effectiveness and training and retaining a skilled aerospace workforce. This will be reflected each day in the Air Seminar Programme, and by the event’s extensive offering from specialist exhibitors in the Air Zone.

The Air Zone, fully supported by the Royal Air Force and Joint Helicopter Command, includes a capability area dedicated to the aerospace supply chain. The Zone will host a comprehensive seminar programme focused on procurement, training, export maximisation and promoting opportunities for SMEs. Companies already confirmed to feature in the Zone include Challenger Solutions; The Pandect Group; SABRE Global Services; and Ross Aviation.

Other notable names exhibiting air capabilities include: BAE Systems, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, MBDA, Northrop Grumman, Thales, Cobham, and QinetiQ.

Companies serving the military aerospace market at DSEI include Esterline, Inzpire and Nasmyth Group.

With an impressive array of static displays expected to feature around the ExCeL concourse, as well as a notable line up of rotary assets operating in the maritime domain, DSEI is confirmed as the must-attend event for the entire aerospace sector.

Duncan Reid, DSEI Event Director said: "DSEI 2017 will feature its strongest aerospace offering yet, comprising fixed, rotary wing and unmanned platforms. Emphasising the importance of DSEI as a premier aerospace forum, the event will host presentations by top level UK and overseas senior air officers. We are delighted by the level of support we are receiving from the procurement, operational and supplier communities around the world."
