The awards were presented in Clontarf Castle, Dublin during the SC21 Task Force conference which was attended by companies from across the UK and Ireland this week.

This is the first time that the conference has been held in Dublin, a reflection of the growth of the aerospace supply chain industry in Ireland.

The latest gold award was presented to Gloucestershire-based L-3 TRL Technology, who supply advanced electronic systems. Achieving a gold award demonstrates clear commitment to continuous improvement but, given the challenging requirements of the bronze and silver levels, is no easy feat.

Six Irish companies received the prestigious SC21 Awards at the event:

Bellurgan Precision Engineering Ltd from County Louth

Dawnlough Ltd based in Galway

DPF Engineering Ltd based in Carlow

Eire Composites Ltd from County Galway

Schivo Precision Ltd based in Waterford

Takumi Precision Engineering Ltd from Limerick

Paul Everitt, CEO of ADS Group said: “Competitive and sustainable supply chains are vital to the future growth and success of our industry; through the SC21 programme, companies benefit from a clear and practical framework that enables greater efficiency and productivity.

“My congratulations go to all the award winners especially L-3 TRL Technology for achieving gold. It was great to see so many companies receiving awards, a clear reflection of growth across the aerospace supply chain both north and south of the border, and good economic news given the high-skill, high-value employment it represents. I would also like to thank Enterprise Ireland for their partnership in this event.”

Tom Kelly, Head of Enterprise Ireland’s Industrial, Lifesciences and Consumer Division said:“These awards demonstrate the commitment of local suppliers to improving their competitiveness through the SC21 programme, and we want to build on this success.  Our goal is to further grow the Aerospace industry. We are pleased to support companies on this programme, improving capability and competiveness in these in high-technology, high-value areas.”
