With Security & Policing 2019 – the official UK Government global security event – only four weeks away, Shaun Hipgrave, Head of the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) shares his top tips for getting the most out of this year’s show.
The excitement amongst the JSaRC team is really building around this year’s event. A tremendous amount of effort has been put into creating an event that delivers for the exhibitors, visitors and Government alike. This year we have more ministerial attendance, more senior official attendance and more features that should create the most interactive Security & Policing event ever.
Ministers and officials are there to speak to you the exhibitors and visitors. They want to let you hear about their priorities, understand your capabilities and learn about the positive impact the security sector is making on protecting the public and protecting the protectors. Take time to listen to the keynote speeches as well as visiting the Government Zones to understand Government priorities.
If you’re exhibiting at Security & Policing, there are a few tips I can share that will help you get the best out of the event:
- Where possible, do attend the keynote speeches given by Ministers and officials. Please visit the Government Zones and speak to those Government Departments your products are focused on.
- Put the effort in to inviting your own government customers both UK and international. Also you should be aware that the visitor criteria has changed and all security professionals are invited so include heads of security, security architects, and any other prospective customers.
- Finally, explore the event. Speak with other exhibitors, visit the immersive features, the Live Demonstration Arena and the Market Place Feature, and use these to learn as much about your sector as possible.
