Join UKDSE’s Senior Trade Officer from the British High Commission in Ottawa, for a series of briefings and networking on doing business with The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Department of National Defence (DND).
The Senior Trade Officer will be accompanied by a number of Indigenous Owned Businesses and Business Advisers who are working with CAF, DND and other Departments of the Canadian Government. As part of the Government of Canada's journey on Truth and Reconciliation with the First Nations of Canada, it has committed to work to advance economic reconciliation, through supporting Indigenous businesses with federal government procurement opportunities.
The Government of Canada is looking to increase economic opportunities for First Nations, Inuit and Métis businesses through the federal procurement process by implementing a requirement for federal departments and agencies to ensure a minimum 5% of the total value of contracts awarded are held by Indigenous businesses. There will be industry representatives and consultants participating to share their knowledge and experience of doing business with the DND and how to leverage Government of Canada Departments and programmes to navigate the many Indigenous Registered Companies who will help you make the biggest impact for your bid and their communities. Additionally there will also be virtual briefings from Government of Canada Officials to talk about navigating Canada’s Industrial Technological Benefits Program and the related Key Industrial Capabilities Programme.
