For our Charity Cycle, we’ve teamed up with five incredible charities and STEM academies to support underrepresented groups across the UK. These beneficiaries are vital in supporting our past, present, and future workforce – from empowering the next generation of industry leaders to supporting members of the Armed Forces community . Through our partnership, we aim to shine a spotlight on the invaluable work they do throughout our industry. This summer, we’ll be hosting a series of events and activities to raise awareness and generate donations for the following beneficiaries:

Furness Education & Skills Partnership (FESP) is a forward-thinking charity rooted in collaboration between education and industry, established to raise aspirations, develop skills, and improve life chances for young people across the Furness area. Since 2011, FESP has worked to bridge the gap between learning and employment – designing and delivering meaningful, experience-based programmes that help young people realise their potential and prepare for success in a rapidly evolving world.

Engaging with 85% of local primary schools and 100% of secondary schools, and supported by a team of experienced former teachers, headteachers and educational professionals, FESP provides over 11,500 purposeful learning opportunities each year. These range from early years development to post-16 skills initiatives, all of which are focused on building confidence, emotional resilience, teamwork and leadership – key attributes that are not typically embedded in academic curricula but are essential for lifelong success.

FESP’s work is especially vital in Furness, an area that faces longstanding challenges around deprivation, low aspiration, and generational worklessness. Our programmes are designed to break this cycle – introducing young people to diverse career pathways, exposing them to positive role models, and developing the transferable skills needed for progression in life, learning and work.

We work in strategic partnership with schools, employers, community organisations and the third sector to ensure young people have regular, high-quality encounters with the world of work, starting from a young age. By integrating community voices and employer insight into project design, FESP ensures its work remains relevant, responsive and impactful.

Our goal is not to fulfil statutory requirements, but to fill the crucial skills gap that many young people face – especially those from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds. FESP offers a progressive, hands-on approach that gives young people the confidence to aspire, the tools to succeed, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the future of their communities and the wider economy.

We don’t just prepare young people for the world – we help shape a future where they can thrive in it.

Motivez is an ambitious, community and youth-led organisation, founded in 2015 and spearheaded by three award-winning young Black engineers (George Imafidon MBE, Muizz Almaroof and Treasure Oyelade) from deprived areas across London. Our mission is to empower underrepresented young people aged 14 – 25 to access innovative education and long-term employment opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This is fulfilled through grassroots and employability programmes (Sustainable London and Application Season to name a few) and mentoring delivered by relatable young professionals from leading companies like Google, McLaren, PwC and Rolls-Royce, where we develop local STEM changemakers. We have existing partnerships with five London councils, including Barnet, and 20+ community-led organisations to fulfil this mission. We are excited to extend our work into Stevenage and collaborate alongside Airbus to strengthen the space and defence sector. We have directly supported 13,500+ young people and received commendation and support from the Royal Family, Sir Lewis Hamilton, Idris Elba and Beyonce.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy tells the epic story of how the Royal Navy and our naval heritage shaped Britain’s history and communities. Our ambition is to be the world’s most inspiring naval museum, linking Navy to Nation. With six sites across the country, the National Museum of the Royal Navy is more than galleries, displays, and exhibitions, it’s real experiences. Visitors can climb aboard the most famous ships, planes, and submarines of the Royal Navy and see through the eyes of those who served on them and be truly captivated by the thousands of unique, emotional, and sometimes quirky stories that have shaped the Royal Navy into what it proudly stands for today.

MOD contracts now require at least a 10% social value to be demonstrated, we appreciate that this is challenging for some companies and we feel part of our USP is helping to be able to deliver this. By supporting NMRN projects we can help to deliver on these targets, especially around our National STEM Programme and the new Royal Marines Experience Museum.
