About Helen Almey
As a Biologist with a PhD in Entomology who started her career as a Government Defence Researcher, transferable skills have been the basis of Helen's career – something only realised very late in the journey! Helen's experience has allowed jobs in research, policy, innovation, defence and security whilst working in government, industry and academia. Helen believes the security sector is a great area to work in, allowing diverse and exciting opportunities – but in many ways it is one of the hardest sectors to actually define.
