WATCH BACK ON DEMAND
Organised in collaboration with the Defence & Security Exports at the Department for International Trade and the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, we discovered the potential commercial opportunities in South-East Asia for UK firms to do business there. This webinar was part of a short series of information webinars to promote greater awareness of a number of prospective markets around the world.
In this webinar we focused on the South-East Asian market in the maritime and aerospace sectors, and linked it to promoting and supporting UK Industry interest in participating at the biennial Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace exhibition. The 16th iteration of the event is due to take place on the Malaysian island of Langkawi, at which ADS Group is planning on organising a United Kingdom Pavilion.

Background on LIMA:
LIMA was officially launched back in 1991 with the blessing and active support from the highest echelons of the Malaysian political establishment. The latest version of this event, held in March 2019, had over 42,000 trade visitors from across the region and beyond and had over 400 exhibiting international companies. This year’s event is due to be organised by Alpine Integrated Solution Sdn Bhd and this year’s event once again has the complete support of MINDEF, the Malaysian Ministry of Defence. The intent behind LIMA was that it should become one of the largest and most important maritime and aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific, focussing not only on the defence industry, but also supporting civilian industries in the maritime and aerospace sectors across the South-East Asian region.
This webinar enabled UK firms to identify what the potential defence business opportunities might be for them to do maritime and aerospace business across South-East Asia, as well as what value there might be in their participating in and attending LIMA 2023.
