Engineering in our sectors is at an exciting time with the profession at the cutting edge of digitalisation and sustainability. At the same time there is a predicted significant shortfall in the future workforce required to deliver the UK’s technology and engineering ambitions.
Many ADS members are struggling to recruit talented individuals, impacting on their ability to grow, such as in the Space Sector.
Careers in our sectors
Today we host an exciting STEM event ‘Pioneers of Tomorrow’ at Farnborough Airshow 2022. With over 15k visitors scheduled to attend including schools and general public, there is a great opportunity to engage young minds, challenge their view of our sectors and energise them to look at the career opportunities available.
We also launch the ADS Talent Hub as a central resource of information on innovation, key projects around the UK that will require a highly skilled future workforce and skills policy to support recruitment and retention.
The Hub also incorporates a new recruitment portal showcasing early career opportunities across our four sectors; bringing ADS members – particularly our SMEs – closer to those looking for work.
