Tim Johnson, Director of Policy and Strategy at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) explained the changes to aviation safety regulation, their preparations, and how you can secure the required certifications and approvals to place goods on the UK and EU market at the end of the transition period.
The Border Operating Model and guidance on importing and exporting
This webinar looked at the measures companies need to take to prepare for new import and export arrangements. We were joined by representatives from the Border and Protocol Delivery Group (BPDG), HMRC and BEIS to discuss the new Border Operating Model, importing and exporting for goods trading, and what new procedures businesses need to follow to comply with the new regime. We were unable to record this webinar.
UK REACH explained, with DEFRA

Requirements for defence exports when the transition period ends

In this webinar, the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) at the Department for International Trade outlined the scope of Export Controls and what will change as a result of leaving the EU. The ECJU covered export licenses, the unique circumstances for NI-GB trade, trade sanctions and the proactive steps members should take to ensure they are correctly registered and able to continue exporting.
Logistics and Freight
In this webinar Mark Johnson, National Customs and Trade Control Director from Kuehne + Nagel, a global transport and logistics company, outlined what businesses need to do for goods moving from the EU to the UK, and from the UK to the EU. This included any differences depending on the method of goods movement, any areas of clarity still required from the UK Government, and what businesses need to do between now and the end of the transition period on 31 December to prepare.
Ensuring lawful data flows from 1 January 2021
From 1 January 2021, the legal basis under which personal data can flow between the UK and EU will fundamentally change. Neil Ross, Policy Manager, Digital Economy at techUK and Ben Nash from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport outlined the issues and actions you can take to ensure you and your customers and/or suppliers remain compliant.
