Today marks the start of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week running from 3rd-7th February! The theme behind the 13th Annual National Apprenticeship Week 2020 is “Look Beyond”, looking to tackle stigmas and misconceptions around apprentices. The week will celebrate diversity and the value of apprenticeships to organisations, the apprentices themselves and their communities.

The UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space sectors employ 12,000 apprentices and are at the forefront of providing high quality training and development. Companies in these sectors provide thousands of apprenticeships every year, offering routes into exciting and high-tech, high-skill, high-wage careers. These apprentices make a valuable contribution to manufacturing, with many of them working on world-leading technologies.

Every year ADS holds a Parliamentary Reception celebrating apprentices and the important contribution they make to our sectors and the country. You can read about last year’s event here.

This week we will be featuring a range of apprentices from our sectors to learn about why they became an apprentice and what they enjoy about it. You can check back here throughout the week for the latest blogs.
