ADS welcomes the publication of the UK Counter Unmanned Aircraft Strategy today, which sets out how the UK will harness the many economic and societal benefits of drone technology, while protecting the public from improper drone use.
To help set out some of the issues facing the deployment of counter-drone technologies, ADS is today publishing a policy paper on four likely use cases for counter-drone technologies: at airports, major events, nuclear power plants and prisons. These use cases demonstrate the practical, legal and regulatory challenges that are faced when deploying counter-drone technologies in an operational context.
ADS looks forward to working with the government on the implemention of its new counter-drone strategy through its Drone Platforms and Counter-Drone Special Interest Group, and hopes that this paper will help inform this important dialogue between industry and government.
