Last week ADS wrote to the Chancellor of the Exchequer outlining our sectors’ priorities ahead of the 2019 Spending Round on Wednesday.
ADS called on the Government to:
- Ensure support is made available for companies to prepare for Brexit, including measures to ease the cashflow impacts on SMEs across our sectors.
- Allocate long-term funding to improve the competitiveness of UK supply chains, focussing on increasing the performance and productivity of SMEs.
- Signal intentions to extend funding for the Aerospace Technology lnstitute beyond 2030 to enable the UK to become a world-leader in electric and autonomous flight.
- Prioritise the delivery of a Defence lndustrial Strategy to maximise prosperity, deliver a better commercial environment, enhance national security and leverage the UK’s global capabilities.
- Support the UK’s Security and Resilience sector through a continued focus on increasing export opportunities and renewed funding for the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) within the Home Office.
