ADS is once again exhibiting at Advanced Engineering 2024.

Advanced Engineering is a leading conference and exhibition for the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Held annually at the NEC Birmingham, this event brings together leading innovators, decision-makers and industry experts to explore the latest advancements in engineering technology, materials and manufacturing processes. It aims to create a platform that empowers organisations to contribute to driving transformative change.

For 2024, it is hosted on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 October.

Convening the conversations that matter

Our sectors are central to the UK’s manufacturing landscape and the event provides a great opportunity for us to reinforce the pivotal role they play as drivers of economic growth and innovation.

With attendance at the show including our membership, sector and services teams, we aim to showcase how our sectors are shaping the future of engineering and manufacturing and how we support members and wider industry in securing UK advantage.

Five ways to meet the ADS team at Advanced Engineering:

1. Visit our stand: S202

We are hosting a large stand providing a focus for ADS members to come and engage with the ADS membership and sector teams. Although we have representatives available at the stand during the two days, specific teams will be on hand at the following days/times:

  • Wednesday 30 October – Morning session – Space
  • Wednesday 30 October – Afternoon session – Defence & Security
  • Thursday 31 October – Morning session – Aerospace
  • Thursday 31 October – Afternoon session – Membership

2. Meet the Buyer programme

The ADS Meet the Buyer event enables suppliers to meet with companies that are actively seeking capabilities, engage with the right people within the procurement and supply chain functions, and to connect with companies outside of their primary sectors. In 2023 there were 12 separate buyers participating and 150+ meetings facilitated. For 2024 we are targeting for 300 supplier meetings.

3. Speaking engagements

Hear from Kevin Craven, ADS CEO, during his keynote address on day one.

Also on day 1:

  • 12:30 NATEP technology explored
  • 13:30 Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Framework – improving supply chain capability

Harriet Wollerton, SCS Director, and Colin Hart, Competitiveness Director, will be speaking during these two sessions. They will include information on the ESG pathway and SC21 and Aero Excellence programmes.

Day 2:

  • 13:30 NATEP / DTEP Funding programmes – Find out what funding opportunities are available.

4. Assess your competitiveness with the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) team

The SCS Framework can support your organisation to boost growth and enhance resilience from improving your competitive performance, highlighting opportunities to invest in innovation and digitalisation to helping you progress towards sustainability goals. The team can demonstrate the products and services available including resources such as the ESG assessment, Baseline Assessment Tool and GHG Guidelines for aerospace and defence SMEs.

5. Afternoon reception

We are also hosting a networking reception on the ADS stand on the afternoon of day one. Everyone is welcome: there is no need to book, just come along.
