Join ADS for a workshop to understand the future of UK Defence ESG Charter, and its significance for industry at every level of the supply chain and across all stakeholders from government to investors and the workforce.
A new framework for ESG standards
Introduced earlier this year, the UK Defence ESG Charter sets out clear commitments on behalf of the sector to enhance our ESG alignment. The Charter enhances commitments made by the sector and provides a framework for greater ambitions around climate transition and clean tech; societal impact; and governance and ethics.
The Charter hosts 9 key statements of intent under 3 overarching pillars:
- Under the climate transition & clean tech, with commitments covering decarbonisation, clean tech and climate solutions, and critical mineral traceability.
- Societal impact, focussing on improving the diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) of the sector, inspiring the next generation into STEM roles and furthering the sector’s positive impact on communities through meaningful partnerships.
- Governance & ethics, with commitments towards greater cyber resilience, growing the UK’s sovereign capabilities and skills and continuing to ensure export safety and success.
