Last month we brought the Aircraft Interiors Group (AIG), a Special Interest Group (SIG) of ADS, to the heart of French Aerospace; Toulouse. With the support and facilitation of ADS Toulouse – an ADS subsidiary – a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the ATR production line kicked off the visit. Members were invited to see the ATR 42 and 72 aircraft in assembly, including their latest interior being fitted.

Members also had the opportunity to hear from senior guest speakers including representatives from Airbus, ATR, Aerospace Valley and Aerospace Ad’Occitanie, who shared inside knowledge of supply chain processes and opportunities.

A presentation from Airbus on their cabin procurement strategy, business models and market trends proved particularly insightful. It also reinforced the standards and certificates needed to be considered as an Airbus supplier. Members of the group who did not get to participate in this trip can view this presentation in the group’s area of the website.

All in all over 40 companies networked and discussed business opportunities over the 24 hours, making this a great first outing for the group.

Next stop Aircraft Interiors Expo  

The group will next come together to showcase the combined UK offering in this market, at the Aircraft Interiors Expo next April. Spanning more than 315 sqm, the ADS organised UK Pavilion will be hosted in partnership with UK government, promising great exposure for those participating.
